I'm an alligator I'm a mama-papa coming for you I'm a space invader I'll be a rock 'n' rollin' bitch for you Keep your mouth shut You're squawking like a pink monkey bird And I'm busting up my brains for the words Keep your 'lectric eye on me babe Put your ray gun to my head Press your space face close to mine, love Freak out in a moonage daydream oh yeah! Don't fake it baby Lay the real thing on me The church of man, love Is such a holy place to be Make me baby Make me know you really care Make me jump into the air Keep your 'lectric eye on me babe Put your ray gun to my head Press your space face close to mine, love Freak out in a moonage daydream oh Keep your 'lectric eye on me babe Put your ray gun to my head Press your space face close to mine, love Freak out in a moonage daydream oh yeah!

You promised me the ending would be clear You'd let me know when the time was now Don't let me know when you're opening the door Stab me in the dark, let me disappear Memories that flutter like bats out of hell Stab you from the city spires Life wasn't worth the balance Or the crumpled paper it was written on Don't let me know we're invisible Don't let me know we're invisible Hot cash days that you trailed around Cold cold nights under chrome and glass Led me down river of perfumed limbs Sent me to the streets with the good time girls Don't let me know we're invisible Don't let me know we're invisible We could dance, dance, dance through the fire Dance, dance, dance through the fire Feed me no lies I don't know about you, I don't know about you Breathe through the years I don't know about you, I don't know about you Bring me the disco king I don't know about you, I don't know about you Dead or alive, bring me the disco king Bring me the disco king Bring me the disco king Bring me the disco king Spin-offs with those who slept like corpses Damp morning rays in the stiff bad clubs Killing time in the 70s Smelling of love through the moist winds Don't let me know when you're opening the door Close me in the dark, let me disappear Soon there'll be nothing left of me Nothing left to release Dance, dance, dance through the fire Dance, dance, dance through the fire Feed me no lies I don't know about you, I don't know about you Breathe through the years I don't know about you, I don't know about you Bring me the disco king I don't know about you, I don't know about you Dead or alive, bring me the disco king Bring me the disco king Bring me the disco king, bring me the disco king Bring me the disco king, bring me the disco king Bring me the disco king, bring me the disco king

Do you remember a guy that's been in such an early song I've heard a rumour from Ground Control Oh no, don't say it's true They got a message from the Action Man "I'm happy, hope you're happy too I've loved all I've needed to love Sordid details following" The shrieking of nothing is killing Just pictures of Jap girls In sin city and I ain't got no money and ain't got no hair But I'm hoping to kick but the planet it's glowing Ashes to ashes, funk to funky We know Major Tom's a junkie Strung out in heaven's high Hitting an all-time low Time and again I tell myself I'll stay clean tonight But the little green wheels are following me Oh no, not again I'm stuck with a valuable friend "I'm happy, hope you're happy too" One flash of light, but no smoking pistol I never done good things I never done bad things I never did anything out of the blue Want an axe to break the ice Wanna come down right now Ashes to ashes, funk to funky We know Major Tom's a junkie Strung out in heaven's high Hitting an all-time low My mother said To get things done You'd better not mess With Major Tom

All of my life I've tried so hard Doing my best with what I had Nothing much happened all the same Something about me stood apart A whisper of hope that seemed to fail Maybe I'm born right out of my time Breaking my life in two Throw me tomorrow Now that I've really got a chance Throw me tomorrow Everything's falling into place Throw me tomorrow Seeing my past to let it go Throw me tomorrow Only for you I don't regret That I was Thursday's child Monday Tuesday Wednesday born I was Thursday's child Sometimes I cried my heart to sleep Shuffling days and lonesome nights Sometimes my courage fell to my feet Lucky old sun is in my sky Nothing prepared me for your smile Lighting the darkness of my soul Innocence in your arms Throw me tomorrow Now that I've really got a chance Throw me tomorrow Everything's falling into place Throw me tomorrow Seeing my past to let it go Throw me tomorrow Only for you I don't regret That I was Thursday's child

about

The first time I heard of David Bowie was learning at a young age that he, Elvis, and I share a birthday. I didn't get into him until college. These are a collection of songs, each from a different Bowie era, that stand out to me. Aside from the opening number, they are deeply introspective, showing Bowie in different decades grappling with who he has been and who he wants to be next. Throughout his career he was killing his former self. Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.
